Our Mini 10-Day Europe Road Trip!

Although we have not reached home yet, our plan for tomorrow is to get home safe and sound InshAllah!

This was supposed to be in a table by the way but unfortunately I don't know how to do that yet on this bloggy thing! Haha!

Itinerary:

Format as below:

Date

Departing from

Arriving to

Length of Journey (approx. minus stopovers)

Additional notes

Food

19/03/15

Home – London, England

Paris via Folkestone,

Eurotunnel port to Calais, France

6 hrs

Need to arrive at Eurotunnel for check in approx. 30-40 mins prior departure. Eurotunnel takes about 35 minutes to get you from England to France so it is the faster mode of transport if driving when compared to the ferry.

20/03/15

Paris, France

-

-

Time to check out the city!

Le Wok St Germain

21/03/15

Paris, France

Dijon

3 hrs

My Wok

22/03/15

Dijon, France

Thonon-les-Bains

3 hrs

We stayed in TLB, but it was right next to the town of Evian. Lac Leman was very close to see, and could see Lausanne across the lake here.

Shiraz

23/03/15

Thonon-les-Bains, France

Aosta Valley , Italy; via Chamonix, France

2 ½ hrs

Drive down the D902 towards Morzine to be able to take the scenic route through the French Alps, otherwise the satnav will stick you straight on the motorway through a boring route! This is the most scenic part!

Apartment stay, thus we cooked our own food on this day.

24/03/14

Gressan, Aosta Valley, Italy

-

-

Spent the day chilling a bit, basically a bit of a break in the middle of the trip. Took the cable cars up to the top of the mountain to Pila. Check out the view and ski slopes!

Apartment stay, thus we cooked our own food on this day.

25/03/15

Gressan, Aosta Valley, Italy

Serravalle Designer Outlet Mall, Italy

2 hrs

A day of designer shopping at one of the biggest outlet malls in Italy. About 1 ½ hr drive to Milan from here; however it is in the opposite direction of this route.

Apartment stay, thus we cooked our own food on this day.

26/03/15

Serravalle Designer Outlet Mall, Italy

Nice, France; via Monte Carlo, Monaco

3 hrs

Monaco is so small, that if you’re on a tight schedule you can easily just drive around and check it out and stop for a quick lunch maybe! We didn’t have time to check out any historical stuff here so maybe next time.

27/03/15

Nice, France

Lyon via Cannes, France

4 ½ hrs

A lovely lunch by the sunny sea is a must in Cannes, before a long journey up to Lyon, which is essentially the start of the return journey.

Bailando Cafe

28/03/15

Lyon, France

Paris, France

4 ¼ hours

Ah, the capital once again!

Tandoor & Wok

29/03/15

Paris, France

Home, London, via Calais Eurotunnel port to Folkestone, England

6 hrs

Home at last. A relaxing holiday is definitely needed after this hectic one!

Le Wok St Germain

Leave comments below if you would like more details about the places we tried along the way. The ones listed are mainly lunch/dinner places because breakfast was either something from a local patisserie or at the hotel. Some places have been omitted because of their random nature such as a stop over and a bite to eat at the service station, and some because they were chains like McDonalds and Subway!

Happy travelling!

M xx
